The mystery makes Pretty Little Liars more entertaining than the tedium of Gossip Girls, and many parents might actually enjoy watching along with their young adults, who can explain why this sort of thing is so alluring to them. The first half of the book is so boring however, Shepard brings this book to the most climactic conclusion possible without making any reveals. It still flowed over from the last book, the only thing about this one that was different was that it didn’t give you any information about the four girls- Aria, Spencer, Emily and Hannah,- so you would HAVE to read the second or first book to know anything about the girls.
